A Whole Lotta Torta!

It was one of those evenings where my appetite was faded in the background thanks to all the adrenalin from the day's rush projects. I knew I had to eat something though. So, I drive down Greenville and see this seafoam colour brick eatery with Tacos/Tortas in the window. I walk in and place my order for a torta platter- chicken torta with fries for $5.99. I love the mural on the wall... not spectacular, but still telling of the artistry probably encouraged in the family who owns the joint. Slightly dirty on the surfaces, but the colours, big case of baked Mexican pastries and the catholic figurines tell me it's pretty darn authentic (ya, let's not forget the man behind the counter). The food arrives very quickly and I our the green salsa in the sandwich. I take a bite. The bread has that perfect combination of toasted/fried on top... it's not blobby in the center. The chicken is tender, seasoned perfectly. The sandwich also has a layer of beans spread on the bread. It is HEAVENLY. The absolute best torta I have tried. Hands down. The fries were pretty good, not sure if they were fresh or not, but pretty good.
The man behind the counter is in the family of owners. He was very welcoming and it kinda felt nice sitting, watching TV I couldn't understand and quietly enjoying my dinner.
