The Gesture

Miggity's mom's b'day was this past Saturday. I decided to bake a cake and take it over. That's right. It was a "I want to do something nice for her, perhaps, open some lines of communication" kind of gesture. I figured I care so much about Miggity and see this being something long term, why not try to break the ice a bit with the mother. I realize Miggity is so un-interfering, that I'd probably have to do my own legwork here. I made a tres leches cake (same Alton Brown recipe) and I believe it turned out really good. Infact, i can vouch for that 'cause I made a mini loaf for myself from the same batter :-P Anyway, his mother seemed to appreciate the gesture very much. And I hope Miggity did too.
