A Treasure

So the day before Miggity was going to leave for New Orleans, he came over and I got my Christmas present :-) It is the most beautiful art deco watch I have seen. It is also the most thoughtful gift anyone has ever given me. Just when I thought my heart was headed for doomland, he pops this treasure in my hands. It's an Elgin watch made in Elgin, Illinois in the 1920s.

We went to eat at Trece (a mexican restaurant) in Uptown after that because we had a free meal offer. The food was pretty lame. The ambience was nice, but more a "cheap" cover-up kinda nice. It wasn't nice nice. However, Miggity and I agreed there was something to be said for making reservations and having to be somewhere together, then sitting across one another eating a meal and sharing conversation. Just then I told him he had lucked out because I was going to suggest we take a break from being together. Of course, I quickly was told that those type f conversations need to be had behind closed doors. I noticed it didn't ruin his demeanor towards me though, and we went to see Highland Park Christmas lights after that. When we got home I told him the truth- I was scared that he'd break my heart because we don't feel the same way about eachother. His response, "So what if I'm right behind you?" I asked him to explain to me again why he wouldn't ask me to come with him. We talked and the most important thing he said which I need to remember is, "You are the most important person in my life." Merry Christmas Mili and next time please turn down the mental noise. At the same time, congratulations for speaking your mind in a timely manner.
